Help a Mom Get Her Daughter Back

Her Daughter Was Stolen Through a Corrupt Legal System…

This Mom’s story is heartbreaking!  In 2013, at age 20, after leaving an abusive husband, she sought refuge in a women’s shelter.  That is where it all went wrong.
An older woman who worked in the shelter befriended her and offered to help, taking her and her 1 yr old daughter into her home for 2 months.  After gaining her trust, she persuades the young mother to go into another women’s shelter out of state where they would help her get on her feet (college, job, home, etc).  Then, she offers to take care of her 1 yr old daughter until she gets established in her new location.  Grateful for the help, and trusting her friend, the young mother accepts the offer… but before she is to leave, the “friend” presents her with some papers… “This gives my husband and I permission to get medical attention for your daughter in case anything were to happen while in our care.”  So the young mother signs the papers, barely even glancing at the words – trusting her friend.  And she leaves her daughter in their care while she sets off to make a new start for herself and her child.
She is able to get a job, and begins taking college classes.  Soon, she has a car and an apartment.  She visits her daughter on weekends or days off.  Over time, the “friend” begins to make excuses on visit days… “I’m sorry, we have company that day… I’m sorry, the baby is sick… Oh, we’re gonna be gone that day… ”  Or she goes to see her child and the friend is “gone” … and she waits and waits, sends texts, “I’m here… where are you?”  (no reply)  “When are you gonna be home?  I have to go back soon.”  (no reply)
The young mom begins to be very concerned and sends texts that she is established and wants her daughter back.  “You can’t” …she is told.  “Why not?!”  “Because we have custody.”  She finds out that the papers she signed that day in a meeting at a city park with her friend were not just any old papers… they were guardianship papers.
She is now fighting for her daughter through the courts, as a corrupt judge awarded the “friend” with adoption, refusing to look at documented evidence or hear witness testimony proving her attempts to see her child, to provide for her child (despite that the friend refused her monetary help), and that she has held a stable job for 3 years and is able to care for her daughter.
Will you help her?  Let’s get this story out, please, and maybe we can join together to pray.  If you know of any legal or advocate organizations that might help her, please pass them along as well using the form below!

God bless you!

We are currently raising money for a Homeless Children’s Day Center. We will be identifying the children to form a record and tracking them to prevent sexual exploitation. We will be feeding, passing out clothes and providing showers as well as medical attention. We also will be putting them in school with all their school needs met. In addition, we will have bible studies, and work with the adults on their addiction and other issues. Our goal is to save the children and bring them into our faith family, so they have access to education, support and protection from predators.

The reason we set up this GoFundMe site, is to give an option other than pay pal at our other donation site which is at http://www.empowered.org/support-for-a-child–or-general-donation

My name is David M Wilkerson, and my wife and I have been doing missionary work here in Cebu, Philippines since May 2010.  I am from the United States, and lived in Seattle 10 years prior to coming here.

My wife and I live in one of the poverty areas here and we also work in other poverty areas. We established Hope Christian Church and the families we raise money for also live in our area.

One of our primary goals is that the children are supported in school. We supply their uniforms, supplies and provide funds for ongoing school projects or homework which is weekly.

We feed the children in the poverty areas, and also feed the children who are living on the streets. We also have a feeding program at our church.

Hope House Cebu – Pt 1

We have recently expanded our ministry with outreach to more street children, trafficking victims, and children in severe poverty in the Alaska barangay, Carbon, Duljo, and Sawang Calero/Pasil barangays. We have an ongoing critical need for food and basic items.

Truthfully, I don’t like to ask, I wish I was a billionaire, and I wish we had many businesses, but we don’t. I don’t make a dime on any of this other than meet my basic survival needs. After 7 years it still affects me terribly that I can’t feed more children, help with medical needs, and get more children in school with ongoing support. I know the world is filled with needs, and we aren’t the only ones.

Thank you for your prayerful consideration.
